FGC-9 Mag Catch Overview
The FGC-9 Mag Catch is a machined aluminum replacement for the 3D-printed magazine catch on your FGC-9 MKII. While the printed mag catch works fine initially, it’s one of the weakest points in the design: thin, under constant spring pressure, and prone to warping or breaking over time (especially in hot climates).
This FGC-9 Mag Catch is machined from 6061 aluminum and finished with Mil-Spec MIL-A-8625 Type II black anodize. It’s a direct drop-in replacement for the printed part. No modifications, no fitting. Remove the old one, install this one, and never worry about your mag catch failing again.
Compatible with the FGC-9 MKII.
Why Upgrade to the Aluminum FGC-9 Mag Catch
Eliminate a Known Failure Point
The printed mag catch is thin, under spring pressure, and flexes every time you insert or release a magazine. Over hundreds of cycles, the plastic fatigues. In warm environments (garages, vehicles, outdoor use), PLA and even PLA+ can deform at temperatures well below what you’d expect. The aluminum FGC-9 Mag Catch doesn’t flex, doesn’t creep, and doesn’t care about the weather.
Mil-Spec Anodized Finish
MIL-A-8625 Type II anodize isn’t marketing fluff. It’s the same specification used on military small arms components. The finish provides corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and a consistent black appearance that won’t rub off or discolor over time.
Direct Drop-In Replacement
The FGC-9 Mag Catch is machined to the exact dimensions of the original printed part. Remove your old mag catch, install this one using the existing spring and pivot pin, and you’re done. No drilling, no filing, no modifications to your lower.
6061 Aluminum Construction
6061 is the standard for machined firearm components: strong, lightweight, and corrosion-resistant. The FGC-9 Mag Catch adds minimal weight while dramatically increasing durability compared to printed alternatives.
